We are a charitable company based in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire, celebrating the poetry of Ted Hughes where he was born. After the success of the Ted Hughes Festival last October commemorating the tenth anniversary of the late Poet Laureate's death, we are now planning two mini-festivals that will go ahead later this year. It is important that Ted Hughes' poetry is celebrated and remembered in the village that influenced his writing so much. One of The Trust's biggest projects has been the refurbishment of 1 Aspinall Street into a writer's retreat holiday home. Fitted with modern appliances and decorated in a 1930s style, this newly renovated house captures the ambiance of the era when Ted Hughes was born without foregoing comfort.
