"Eye and the Needle"

St. Michael's Square in Mytholmroyd has been dressed up this spring with a new centrepiece to form a "spiritual heart" for Mytholmroyd.
Funded by Yorkshire Forward and Calderdale Council, sculptor Nicolas Moreton was selected to design a sculpture that now functions as a piece of artwork to admire and a place for locals to sit, trade from or even to perform.
This unique sculpture consists of granite and corton steel with four words, chosen by local people, carved onto the granite benches. The line from Ted Hughes Poem "Moors are a stage for the performance of heaven" is also inscribed onto the sculpture.
