Celebrating the Life and Work of Ted Hughes
Festival Finale - 28th October 2008
This event presents a rare opportunity to hear Ted's poems being read before an audience due to copyright issues that restrict Ted's work being read in public.Glyn Hughes has been granted permission to recite Ted Hughes' poems on the last night of the festival.
Glyn Hughes, poet and novelist, has won awards for his writing and is sure to animate the words of Ted Hughes at the final night of The Ted Hughes Festival. These poets are not relatives as the surname may suggest, but both have been influenced by the landscape of the Calder Valley. Glyn Hughes will also be reading his own work Monday 27th October at The Ted Hughes Theatre.
The evening will round off the festival with two orchestral suites that have been written by two composers to reflect and celebrate the life and work of Ted Hughes, late Poet Laureate.
